Song of The Sea
written by: Martin Tulton
Sea swish soft over shell and stone
Scouring eye and bleaching bone
Fish scales flashing in foaming plume
Enchantress crooning of silver boon
The song of the Mer is a curse to men
When the Siren sings, it is better then
To earless be, unknowing of sound
For to hear is to shoal with the numberless drowned
Though delicious and sweet is the sound of that lyre
Know its sinuous rhythm swirls open the gyre
Don’t listen, Jack Tar, it will suck you to hell
Deep in the green where the Mermaids dwell.
