More Than I

More Than I

written by: EllAm

It is beautiful
Pretty and Pink
No man can deny what this flower brings
Hands yearn to hold a flower like this
A flower like you
Eyes hope to see it even just once
And I get to see you everyday
You take breaths away
You save hearts; hearts long beaten by battles lost
Men linger before it
A flower so amazing
Can only be dreamed of
Yet there you are
A delicate beauty in this harsh world
Men pluck flowers like you
As a gift to petticoats
Now I do too
But this flower pricks me
Expertise in this field fails me
For how often do I pick a flower for a flower?
You are pretty, pink
Does this beauty – this magnificent flower please you?
More than I?
I crave your answer.
