To Have Had One Last Conversation

To Have Had One Last Conversation

written by: Emalisa Rose

I wish we’d have had
one last conversation.

I’d have told you those things
that concerned you
that I wasn’t yet privy to speak of,
needing some time to divulge of
the webbing of woes that fell over me.

I’d have surely confessed
had I known you would pass
from that wretched disease
on that night, last November.

You’d have gone to your grave
with a look of relief on your face
Mother dear.
