A Night in My Hostel

A Night in My Hostel

written by: Deepti Shakya

I remember the night in my hostel,
When I was sitting alone on the chair.
It started raining early that night,
The sullen wind was soon awake.

No stars were shining in the sky,
The ground was damp and moist.
A voice so thrilling was heard,
Lighting, lighting and thundering.

Again, the sullen wind was awake,
The kiss of warm wind touched me.
Suddenly I gazed that,
The sky is calm and quiet.

The moon lies fair, fair,
And the light gleams.
Come to the window, the night air
Is sweet, cool and pleasant.

I’ve enjoyed these sweet and scary moments,
At a few moments, I suspected
That all of these are imaginary,
And fragile; but so sweet.

When I lay on my bed,
In vacant or in pensive mood.
They came into my actual sight,
Which is the bliss of solitude.

And then my heart filled with pleasure,
Those moments were mine, mine, fair.
Those moments were unforgettable for me,
Like a scary and thrilling dream.
