Gaza

There’re two sides to every story
Even though they sound the same
It’s the innocents who suffer
Doesn’t matter who you blame
I’ve often sat and wondered
Just how many read the book
They claim to live their lives by
Standing over lives they took
These guys slaughtered those guys
For the wrongs, they feel were done
Then those guys hammered these guys
Just so they can say they won
Vengeance doesn’t right a wrong
It only breeds more vengeance
The children bleed and die
While leaders justify their pretense
Where do we turn, in these bleak times
To find the voice of reason
Hate raised up its violent head
And spoke for death in season
I’m told the Prophet does not smile
On War that brings such terror
Jesus, they say, embraced his death
To end our futures horror
The people have a prophecy
That brings us all together
To live in peace and harmony
One people’s dream, forever
I find it most appealing
Thoughts of love and peaceful pleasure
The time is now, for all of us
To bring this dream together
You can point your finger
You can say which side you blame
But it’s the innocents who suffer
Just the same
