Balance

The summer’s winding down
But someone needs to tell the sun
Triple digit temperatures
Are roasting everyone
The mornings have been cooler
With temps rising through the day
I wonder if winter will come
They say it’s on its way
Climate change is real
Not the fake news that some claim
But then again that’s from the guy
Who’d drop nukes on hurricanes
It’s far too late to stop it
But we don’t have to make it worse
The cult of acquisition
Is humanity’s great curse
More isn’t always better
If you can’t use what you’ve got
So many going hungry
While some shit in golden pots
Man is only wealthy
With enough to give away
Holding on until it rots
Is what we do today
We could learn a thing or two
From those who came before
Taking only what we need
And giving back much more
