Nights

walking into the night
I feel the burden grow
as debt of the night unfolds
enormity of default
threatens to creep in
and repossess the soul

it tends to dreams and fears
dark deeds and guilt
unexpressed thoughts
un-executed acts
magic withheld

holds space for secrets
till they become art,
technology or commerce
-reinvented currencies
for human exchange
encompass bonds,
expand their range

nights are the womb
that are never seen
birthing the day

shackled feet
metered by earthly inventions
struggle to navigate
dark whirlpools
of nothingness
unused to density
of infinity

the moon changes shape
tarred by allegations
blemishes highlight
uniqueness
built with borrowed shine
a different story
for each phase
and more on the line

nights are the workshop
where conspiracies abound
to alter whatever
the sun reveals
weave webs around the day
change the colors of the veils
