The Stolen Future

written by: Nur Afirah

our children,
their backpacks heavy with dreams–
but today,
the gates of knowledge rust, unseen.
where laughter once rippled like streams,
now only silence remains.
in places once bright with hope,
only shadows and pain.

some will never return,
their futures plucked like wilted flowers.
it’s the world that needs a lesson
to rewrite this broken story.
