I Fell in Love with a Vampire

I Fell in Love with a Vampire

I fell in love with a vampire
that late October night.
He woke me up with a rap at the window.
I let him in because he had your face.
He whisked me away,
and promised me forever.
Forever is hard to come by these days.

Eros and Thanatos,
in flesh and blood,
and the everworld.

With a kiss, he gave me new life,
an eternal river in my veins,
a thirst for dark necessities.
For you.

I long to see you,
to have you see me.
The pale skin you so loved, now paler.
The blue eyes, now black.
My face, the same.

I hunger for the days that this darkness has tucked into its pockets.
I hunger for you.
But I’ve lost taste for the sun.
I suck on the blood red moon,
but it is not you.

If I knock on your window,
will you let me in?
I will say your name, again and again,
wrap myself around you,
in the embrace of endless lifetimes.

We can stay evermore in the umbra.
My teeth are sharp,
but my kiss is soft.
Come be with me.
