The Erosion of Connection

The Erosion of Connection

written by: S. Rin

Someone’s wrong time can scar your right timing.

You turn to tarot readings, astrologers, and deities of your ancestors — anything that might give you a reasonable sense or an answer to your ”why?”

As you walk along your path, you encounter people whose timing aligns with yours. Yet, driven by past fears, you push away potential good, convinced that the bad will outweigh it, just as it did before.

Someone’s simple compliment in the early stage of a possible relationship suddenly becomes a paranoia of love-bombing.

A good relationship that they have with a parent suddenly looks like codependency.

The power relationships have over the human psyche is terrifying; you’re being conditioned by people that you barely know—brainwashing you to accept terms and conditions for a transactional exchange of trauma covered in gift wraps that smell like a bouquet of flowers.

Once, humanity fought for survival. Now, we face the erosion of genuine human connection. We swap and scroll rapidly, much like consuming fast food—quick and cheap, with minimal nutritional or emotional value.

When did we become people of pace rather of habit?

With so much time at hand that we spent on things mundane, confined in the cubicles of our own making—what are we in a rush for?

To get away from ourselves perhaps!
As when we are in our true, honest essence, we doubt only when given a reason.
We are not inherently cynical; rather preserving—we are beings of preserving and maintaining. Modernity may alter the architecture, supply and demand…but it cannot capitalize on what is fundamentally unquantifiable.
