Jedi knights cannot protect her. Shame on us all–
For shame. Her body bends over helpless mercy.
“What can I bring you?” I ask. “A Coke,” she says.
Handing her the red can. Desperation and grace
In the light of her eyes. A chill October wind
Arrives in Paris. I leave her behind, struck dumb with grief.
