Beauty Shall Endure

Beauty shall endure.
Mother bird tends delicate
eggs ‘midst wind and rain.
*
Beauty shall endure.
In troubled ocean waters,
oysters gestate pearls.
*
Beauty shall endure.
Many tears fall daily while
raindrops caress seeds.
*
Beauty shall endure.
Tornado’s ravages spent,
see gem-hued rainbow.
*
Beauty shall endure.
Turmoil in troubled heart soothed
by distant train’s call.
*
Beauty shall endure.
Cat sits on poems notebook,
cheering ill poet.
*
Beauty shall endure.
On winter’s cold gray ground, gold
spark – dandelion.
*
Beauty shall endure.
Winds of war gust again while
breeze stirs front porch chimes.
*
Beauty shall endure.
Fireworks’ jeweled sprays dispel
hated missile glare.
*
Beauty shall endure.
These eyes will go dark as Sun
breaks into new dawn.
NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:
Having a real love of beauty and being a Romantic, yet socially aware and frequently troubled by current events, this Haiku Sequence provided a needed outlet for the inner conflict of acknowledging pleasure and happiness while paying homage to troubles and tears.
