Restless

Restless

written by: jamshe

There seems no reason to stay
When the restlessness begins
You no longer see their positives
Only highlight their sins

You trace your fingers
In the dust of your pain
Looking longingly at the green
On the other side of the window pane

But still you equivocate
Frightened for your future fate
So you visit places you should not go
Speak briefly to those you should not know

But you cannot hide from the fact
That the feelings are not there
You know that peace and growth
Need the nourishment of new air

So you turn away from the past
You can hear the curses behind
You know that you’ve gone from kernel
To just discarded rind
