Razor String Mantra

Razor String Mantra

written and performed by: Don Krieger

I journeyed to my master’s feet to gain enlightenment in this ancient land – broad concrete boulevards and sidewalks, massive block buildings cool till mid-morning, a hundred and ten by noon, power plant cinders in my breath, lovers run over in the dark as they walk in the road hand in hand, a child’s neck slit – multi-color glazed kite string, five dollars per kilometer wound on a rosewood spool … Patang … Dori … dot … com

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

This is a topical poem in response to the death of a 4-year old child in Delhi, India whose throat was cut by a kite string.
