The Thinning of The Veil

written by: Jan McCulloch

Despite the passage of many years, they met every year on the park bench. Their love for each other had never faltered and they cherished those golden moments together. They never questioned each other’s Love. Their hearts were forever entwined. Every year for fifty years they met at that same park bench and held each other. For those few moments they felt complete. The veil between the two worlds was thin on that day. Spirits could step through into our world to be with their loved ones. She lay her head on his shoulder for another brief moment before he softly slipped away. Wiping a tear from her eye she sighed and walked home alone. Maybe sometime soon she would pass through the veil to meet him on the park bench in the Spirit world, where they would never again have to part.
