Star Dusted Dear

Outside, night with its clouds
obscures the bright light of a waxing
nearly full moon.
Clouds cut against a few stars,
distant ones blinking light
through scudding grey bones
of water vapor.
Some stare back at me,
the human watcher, longing
to converse about molecules
that make up shared dust
of bared bodies.
Others blink incredulous
in stellar audacity.
I could not immerse
in black liquids that night,
joined as I was with all
my dear relatives of starlight.
