A Rock by The Sea

A Rock by The Sea

written by: Grace Hall

She sits on the rock looking out to Sea,
And there she is judged.
Her demeanor, their togetherness, her poise,
It is discussed, in depth.
Commented,
And raised to tatters (once more).

Does she know of this?
Yet still her eyes look out to Sea,
Not distracted by the babble.
Now comes a second wave,
Will they agree with the beachcomers they find?
Or do they have opinions of their own.

There is anticipation,
It is growing,
Gradually it’s creating excitement and fun.

Do you think she knows it?
Is it important to her?
She sits on her rock looking out to Sea,
What is it she has found?
Can we go there? It seems so calm, so inviting.
Do we step into her vision.

There is anticipation,
It is growing, It’s freeing,
It’s, it’s, Is it real?

We sit with her on a rock looking out to Sea,
And here we shall be judged.
Awaiting our judgment, awaiting to be free.
