So finally
the sun went down
and
they went home
both in their own direction
somehow
she took him with her
and he took her
in their hearts
their dreams live on

don’t say it aloud
you’re not allowed to

when the sun rose the next day
she opened her eyes
and smiled

she planted a rose
and it grows
grows
grows
and he knows
