NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Illustration description: A dark, nebulous background roils with colours barely visible. It is contrasted by electric beams of red, green, and blue emanating from the center, and a pale lunar orb in the top right. A multicoloured butterfly flies in front of the orb, making a spotlight of it. The words of the haiku in the center of the image seem to be either emanating from or being drawn to the moon, in white Caflisch Script Pro Light font. Seemingly reaching toward the moon is a gnarled branch, on which a multicoloured caterpillar makes its way skyward. A chrysalis hangs from the very end of the branch, completing the implied narrative. Created in Adobe Photoshop Elements.
