A Stormy Night

A Stormy Night

written by: Carlos Valle

The great drummer rain
The great shouter thunder
His brother the lightning
Embracer the wind

They came after midnight
To visit the land
They came as a blessing
They stayed until dawn

When the night was consumed
By the Great Spirit’s hand
As the light of the heavens
Arose over the land

And the sky was the blue
Of a Navajo dream
And the clouds were as white
As the tolling of truth
