Absence

Absence

I’m trying my best to brace myself

from sinking into a black hole of regret

Acknowledging your presence as a catalyst to times filled with serenity

You can remain oblivious but I can’t help resist the urge to

leave them on repeat these days

Standing still as I tear apart every script

As we return to action lighting one up

Watching our smoke tango with winters frozen wind

An ascending aroma introducing itself to a benevolent night sky

You’re no longer around so I’ll remain at a distance reminiscing

as an invisible companion to your guarded lies

waiting for your promising return

only for me to break through and turn your defenses off with my undisputed truths,

Finding it difficult to compose myself since your absence

Overwhelmed by the silence, but I found solace and motivation in writing

In turn finally discovering myself in the process
