Acutely Punctured

Acutely Punctured

written by: Jan Niebrzydowski

The needles so meticulously placed by crafted hand
Inserted into prodigious painful nerve jangling flesh
Toxins released in abundant waterfall slicing sight
Carnivorous in their number, pinching along lines
People deemed as protectors rushing at your psyche
Unexpected in their frivolous attacks, unsettling
In their continuous eventful thrush and jibe
With boxing hands, bracing for skin abrasion
Still, flattened by heinous injury that came askew
Recovery so predictably slow, bleeding out again
Waiting for the sting to cede, haunting in its power
With coarse heart pounding with jackhammer strength
Veins bulge to rage balloons to push the needles out
A few falling with a resounding ping against the floor
Blood still clinging, wrapped around consciousness
Staring mindlessly, helplessly at the tumbled wreckage
Helpless in the fact there are left so many more
