Alone, a poem by Sherry Healy at Spillwords.com

Alone

Alone

written by: Sherry Healy

I chose not to recall your name
I have pushed it so far away
Alone I am to be
A choice to set you free

Alone
You never existed
Not your touches
Not your kisses

Never to be adored by you
A phantom, you were just flowing through
I blow a kiss to you
You were just blowing through

Your musky scent
I chose not to lament
Your flannel towels
To my skin I will not allow

Your blazing flame
I will not recall your name
Alone I am to be
You have set me free
