And Still I Rise
written by: Khalid Belkhalfi
Anger is spitting its hate on my innocent face
Nights, I cannot sleep in this mysterious place
Deafening shouts are craving for my disgrace
Satanic beings from inferno full of abomination
Tearing off my tender soul to my extermination
Inflaming my mind with slander and accusation
Lies, jealousy and spite are their determination
Lucifer’s disciples sons of hate and destruction
I, like the glorious sun in the horizon, still rise …
Revenge doesn’t know my way nor any despise
I am harmony and serenity with love in my eyes
Scintillating like a unique star in the dark skies
Enthralling, my heart is, my boat won’t capsize

I live in the beautiful city of Marrakesh, Morocco. I'm married and I have three kids. I studied in the states between the years of 1985 and 1994. I'm a computer scientist, but I work as a school manager in a large private school. I also teach English literature to kids between 14 and 18 years old. My love of English pushes me to read and write poems. Through this site I would like to read and share with the world the beauty of thoughts while appreciating life.
