Any Change, Love?

Any Change, Love?

written by: Ger White

Can you spare me some change, love?
I looked at him
This man needed love, more than change
And yet in some strange
Way, he was flowing me love
Love is all that remains
When one has nothing
No home, no change of clothes.
His real question was
Can you spare me love – for a change?
Our eyes met, worlds collided
I could have been him, him me
Had my Dad not decided
To encourage and guide me
To get a good job
I could have been this stranger
Lost
With nothing
Only heart
We will always have heart
This I feel, strongly
When all else is lost
We all have heart
That spark of life
That soul
This is our Godliness
Our gift
Nothing else needed
We can give and receive from here
Any change love?
Yes, I have change
I have the ability to change also
To change your life
And mine
We exchanged love
We exchanged stories
We exchanged lives
I spoke to him
Told him I could be him
He decided he could be more
He now has scored
Has a life he adores
He speaks from the heart
Got a head start
That day in the alcove
Any change, love?
