As I Prepare The Way

Today, I look back with humility,
At the people that went before me.
The heroes that paved the way,
So I could have a dream.
They pushed through thorns and dust,
And broke the glass ceiling,
Overcoming all odds,
So I could be here today.
I’m grateful for their kindness,
Now, I will do the same
For the people who are yet to come,
Whose legacies will shine through me.
