Pittsburgh-born United States writer, artist, and photographer, Melyssa G. Sprott uses many different means and mediums of self-expression. Having composed “darker” poetry since before she could even hold a crayon, she has already written fifteen poetry collections and thirteen children’s books, as well as contributed to numerous short horror collections and had work published in several countries with national recognition. Physical art, cutting and manipulating paper and texture is a current favorite activity—especially regarding paper flowers, woven paper art, and children’s book illustrating. When acting as photographer, she enjoys capturing flora, fauna, insects, architecture, nature, and anything else that might pique her interest at that moment. Creativity is catharsis—it quiets the dark.
