Crocodile Poetry

Crocodile Poetry

written by: Melissa Lemay

i want to spin inside
the jaws of a crocodile
and tear myself apart;

to dance along the lines
of rhyme and be swept back
to experience feelings of

exhilaration, repercussion,
the terrifying-sticky-
sweetness of a life

that fits me like a glove.
interrogate the inner
sanctum, question all my

answers, bleed my sanctuary
until it lay barren
on the clouds,

the floor of my mind,
where i fly into
outer space,

where i feel it all
where nothing hurts
anymore.
