A Starry Night

A Starry Night

Parma violet haze
Across the midnight sky
Shooting stars aplenty
What will catch your eye?
The wonders in your vision
Go on forever more
Throw secrets to the universe
And count the stars galore
Stare into the unknown
Imagination running wild
Are we the centre of it all
Or are we truly exiled?
Through naked eyes we witness
The beauty up above
A black diamanté canvas
Signified by love
Within remote surroundings
No artificial light
Take a look up skywards
At the beauty of a starry night.

I write my poetry to help me deal with my mental health state. I find writing down these words a real help. I'm a husband and father of 2. A grassroots football coach who suffers with mental illness. Writing really soothes my soul much like music.
