Dead Outside

Dead Outside

written by: Rayna More

Sitting at the bottom
of a darkened pool,
cold.

No ripples,
no air bubbles,
just silence.

Hair frozen
in the figure of reaching
for the sky.

Eyes open
but seeing nothing,
mouth agape
but breathing nothing,
thoughts running
but feeling nothing.

A pitiful image
frozen in time,
stuck.

Nothing new,
nothing changing,
no blood flowing.

Just thoughts,
and thoughts,
and more bleak thoughts.
