Dear William
written by: Sara Ali
Dear William,
I’ve always wished to meet thou and wish you so…
A very, very happy birthday to the great glorious you,
Which is indeed a great and blessed day for your readers too.
We smile, we cheer, we cry, we craze, we laugh, we pain,
All your reads are so real, they make us umpteen gain.
In fair Verona, where we devoured the Romeo Juliet tale,
Oh, those star crossed lovers, if only they’d texted or sent a mail.
Hamlet, the poor lad, as Claudius turned his mind in a continuous twist,
To be or not to be, the fight, the mischief, the deceit, all on his list.
Macbeth, ambitious, with Lady Macbeth, trailing closely laden with trouble,
What a deadly duo and their deeds made the witches’ cauldron bubble.
Portia, our dear, oh you did achieve an incredible feat for forever time,
A lesson learnt by men and merchants, the power of women is truly sublime.
Titania and Oberon, fairy king and queen, in a midsummer’s night dream,
With love potions and donkey heads, dancing and prancing, quite the scene.
The Tempest brews, a storm so grand, a brave new world,
Prospero’s magic, at his command, your imagination unfurled.
So here’s to you, our dear and favorite bard and inspiration,
How you have changed and challenged and governed much tradition.
Your wit and humor, casts and roles, the tales and plays,
All deserve nothing else but heaps and loads of glory and praise.
Sincerely yours,
In admiration,
All of us.
