Divide

Divide

We will never agree
We can’t even agree to disagree
That feels like giving in
Not standing our ground
Agreement seems futile
And seems like a compromise
Agreement means we both believe
In something that is true and right
There isn’t anything true and right
When someone gives in
When someone stops fighting
When someone closes the divide
Just to agree
You’ve given up
You’ve agreed to disagree
Nothing more to discuss
Don’t meet me in the middle
That isn’t what I want
I desire us to be of like mind
Not for one of us to ever give in
