Domino Effect

lifetime of losses
hoarded dominos
arranged into increasingly
intricate patterns
numbered surfaces blurred
edges worn shiny
smooth
by anxious hands
which will be the one
that topples
me over
sending them
all cascading
one by one
to the floor?
