Drowned In Preening Finery and Greenery

Drowned In Preening Finery and Greenery

written by: Walid Boureghda

A pronghorn is standing up on the hill,
Staring at the impressing eventide.
‘Tis an edifying scenery to fill
With flattering stars and moon to betide.

The sky is murky, cloudy and sordid.
Yet, the sun sends out its auspicious rays
To grant hope to the petals of orchid,
Chanting and hymning the Creator’s praise.

His eyes descry a pleasant green meadow,
Spreading o’er a rug of flowering roses.
The scene is lodged with a budding shadow,
Scenting love and peace with fragrant posies.

‘Tis a maiden painting of a scenery,
Drowned in preening finery and greenery.
