Farewell
a poem

I gaze upon
your tear-filled eyes
hearbreak and pain
consume your soul
Enormous chasm
empty void
one dearly loved
has just passed on
Overwhelmed
and overcome
words choke in
your frozen throat
Analysis
paralysis
you struggle
to compose your thoughts
You steel yourself
with firm resolve
accepting
what is Nature’s role
It gives – it takes
the young – the old
a tale untold
the end unknown
