a poem

by Anne G

I gaze upon

your tear-filled eyes

hearbreak and pain

consume your soul

Enormous chasm

empty void

one dearly loved

has just passed on

and overcome

words choke in

your frozen throat

you struggle

to compose your thoughts

You steel yourself

with firm resolve

what is Nature's role

It gives - it takes

the young - the old

a tale untold

the end unknown

Why write?
I write because I am:
Driven to distraction by the inequities of the society in which we live.
Motivated by cruelty, abuse, ignorance and indifference.
My intention: To poke, prod and provoke!
