Heavy Mask

Heavy Mask

written by: Chloe Gilholy

To others, I may seem aloof or strange;
Impossible to ravel or unwind.
But those who take the time to rearrange,
will find a melody that’s soft and kind.

A place where senses blend and intertwine,
the struggles that we face year to year,
and every moment feels like an uphill climb,
to make us doubt the truth that we hold dear.

I know how to react to to their trigger:
a good old kick to all the backstabbers,
whilst their ignorance only gets bigger,
then flick that switch off all them gaslighters.

Only those who detect my heavy mask,
understand every second is a task!
