How The Story Began

A baby born this very night,
Kings guided by a shining light,
Shepherds left the flocks to also join them,
Their journey took them to a lowly lit stable in Old Bethlehem,
The Kings brought gifts, to welcome the new born king,
They proclaimed this little boy to their land, peace he would bring,
He will fill your hearts with love, and drive all the bitterness away
Jesus Christ our Lord is born; which heralded the start of Christmas Day,
In our World today we are still searching for this very peace,
Only forgiveness and compassion will make the fighting cease,
Beliefs are what they are, yet this story of Jesus is what we tell our Children,
Surely a safe and peaceful world is the best gift we could ever give them.
Maybe it is a wish or even a dream,
But I can remember when I was a little lad,
This story of the Birth of Baby Jesus,
Being told to me by my Mum and Dad!
And all the joy across the world that this does bring,
That’s why on Christmas day we celebrate the New born King
love to all
