I Thought I Was Over You

I Thought I Was Over You

Despite odds of failure,
The World intervene,
And all our bad behaviour,
Would lift our love unseen,

Thinking I’d lost you,
Now I’m riding cloud nine,
Looking down from skies so blue,
Forever to be mine,

No more interference,
Heartfelt tales of woe,
No vague incoherence,
As misunderstandings go,

Second chance for a lifetime,
Blessed such are the few,
Find the words that add rhythm,
Looks like we made it through.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Homage and re-imagination of the popular Homage and re-imagination of the popular Barry Manilow song ‘Looks like we made it’.
