Leo’s Muse

Leo’s Muse

written by: Mikayla Hill

Every day, I spent an hour watching the snail that lived on my garden wall. I named it Mona.
One day I noticed the slimy tracks she left behind seemed to resemble an image. I copied down every trail into my sketchbook. I added to my page each day and watched a woman form.
Months passed, and Mona wrote a single name across the top of the wall, then disappeared.
I meticulously transferred every line to a canvas, adding colour with my paints and brush.
My masterpiece.
Mona’s Lisa.
