Lies & Rumors Backfire

Lies spread like wildfire,
rumors grow out of control,
people join posses
hanging others out to dry.
The crowd follows a vicious pact
tossing the truth aside,
gaining a so-called victory,
keeping only certain ones alive.
Voices taunt the weak and fragile
forcing them out a door,
thinking they won the battle
but they’ve really lost the war.
