Alighted Statue

Alighted statue
of temporal beauty
a soft sigh rests
open eyes lost time

The future  is vague
for ink incarnate
for on frail skin time
etches together alone

Who will love me
when too far the hour hand
stretches
young again eyes glance
away – having forgotten my name,

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

The painting is made by Iena Redeker and the name of the artwork is Camille Clifford…….

Rhaster

I'm a Dutch poet (and an actuary) who once in a while tries to write poetry in English.

I love writing next to pictures of art.
And to stimulate the experience of thinking further....Great
