Little Scraps of Love

Why is it I am always left,
Begging for what I rightfully deserve.
So much so, I get scared when I get,
Anything more than little scraps of love.

Living life like a love letter,
When the world is swiping left on me,
They are already looking at someone better,
When in dreams only them I see.

The Prince Charming that I desperately dream,
Why is it that I can never deserve.
What ruling in the world did deem,
Me worthy of only little scraps of love.

What makes me so unworthy that,
Whoever does look, can only laugh.
Making me stupid when I manage to ask,
Bits and pieces of their attention and love.

Like a fool, with her heart on her sleeve,
As their every whim, I serve.
They are so special, I truly believe,
When they can’t even spare me, little scraps of love.

Every now and then to see if I am hooked
their indifference shows its ugly head,
their attention is my drug of choice,
the more I want, the less I get.

They show me where I truly stand,
As with attention, they shower another,
Take pictures with them hand in hand.
As with tears I look on and wonder.

In this twisted game of chess,
Is heartbreak my only move.
As I look on, always on the sidelines,
Waiting for little scraps of love.
