Managing The Nativity

Managing The Nativity

written by: Stephen Kingsnorth

When the teen narrators
tell the story
we hear that the star has to be moved
so that it is over Bethlehem.
The wise men will notice,
because they are wise.
There is a danger that the shepherds,
watching for the prowl of wolves
will be downcast,
and miss the hosts above,
because they are not wise.
We hear of an innkeeper
who provided a stable
and laid on a manager.
The lad recognises that the laughter tells him
that he has misread the script
though not necessarily
that he has misspoke.
