Marmalade Cat

Marmalade Cat

written by: Angel Edwards

fat old marmalade cat
with golden eyes
slinks through silky black night hallways
fur on his back slowly starts to rise
whiskers still faintly milky
he is curious always
nothing is out of the ordinary
cat returns through the cat door way
leaps upon the bed of the sleeping children
purring as he settles down
beside them
asleep to dream of
chasing shadow mice away
