Mercy Heals All Wounds

Mercy Heals All Wounds

No wound heals,
until the bleeding is staunched,
and the blood clots to seal the wound.

Then, the fascia slowly knits collagen,
rebuilding the wound with new skin.

Mercy’s macrophages,
never ask, “Who did this?”
nor seek revenge,
instead, they offer mercy,
forgiveness, and compassion,
as the body slowly heals,
humanity’s wounds.

No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.” – Carl Jung
