Morning Salutations

Morning Salutations

written by: Rachael Thorp

Mornings they greet me
Sunrise covering feathered mass
Murmuring to me, an incantation of woe.

I paced facing east at seven fifteen.
A murmuration of inky feathers
Darkens the lighting of the sun
Harks back to the sombre cloud last night.

Cohesion of crows
Collected upon chimney pots
Cawing other corvids
Colluding in creative demands.
