Never Again
written by: Gabriel T. Saah
Day in, day out,
My chest is squeezed against the wall of the bottle,
And when the day ends,
I say never again.
The night is creeping in,
And I have completed another cycle of pain,
And I say it’s never again.
My lips have become splintered like the bark of a tree,
My head spins like a whirlpool,
Oh, my goodness, when can it be never again?
Bundles of confusion pile up like dirty clothes,
Can I ever free myself from these fangs?
All day, out of my mouth, substance drool,
And I wallow in the pool.
