You’d never know by looking
The pain that I’ve lived through
The heartbreak that I’m holding
As I smile and laugh with you

Used, abused and broken
Even though I obeyed
I gave everything I had to give
And still, I was betrayed

You’d never know by looking
Just how close I’d come
To ending things once and for all
I’d had it, I was done

You’d never know by looking
What you took from me
Trust and love weren’t enough
So you took my dignity

You’d never know by looking
The mountains I had to climb
To find my way back to me
It took patience and it took time

You’d never know by looking
I refuse to ever be second best
Love is what I’m looking for
I won’t settle for any less

You’d never know by looking
Now I love me for me
I’ve worked so hard to heal myself
At last, I’ve found my peace
