Peace Needed

Peace Needed

Children starving on the ground,
You eat lavish food and drink expensive wine,
They have no peace, no shelter found,
You have sports cars, and clothes so fine.
War destroys villages and towns,
You sleep soundly, never disturbed,
Bodies pile up in great mounds,
You see the disruption, not perturbed.
I wonder how you would be,
If the tables were turned,
If I were you and you, me,
Would you save them, peace be learned?
These are your sisters and brothers,
Trying to survive, trying to live,
Broken old man, devastated mothers,
Oh, have some empathy, please love give.
